Dark stout, red ale and lager; cherry and cask ale and Irish cider; whiskey, rum, gin, port, vodka, Russian bread wine, calvados and armagnac; roast beef, potatoes, steak and cured flounder. The bartenders are talkative and sometimes they even sing or dance with the guests.

This pub near Kazan Cathedral is crowded even in daytime, and more so at nights. Each room and cubbyhole has several TV screens so it would be impossible to miss an important game. There are concerts near the bar counter, but in all other respects it’s a typical pub with steaks, onion rings, whiskey, port and beer.

There are several Mollie’s pubs now, but you should visit the first one at Rubinstein Ulitsa. This is actually St. Petersburg’s first ever pub. When it opened in the final years of perestroika, all the best students of philology and young actresses dreamt of working there. The pub serves cheese sticks, spicy chicken wings, calamary rings and, obviously, beer.
Of all the Foggy Dew bars this one is the oldest and, probably, the best. If you want to visit at the end of the week, call ahead to book a table, because Foggy Dew is known for big groups of guests. There’s plenty of beer - Welsh stout, Newcastle ale, Belgian light, but at least half the guests prefer single-malt whiskey.

Excellent fish and chips, the city’s cheapest port - from Portugal, of course, 10 taps of beer and 30 kinds of bottled beer, but even that is not the most important thing about this bar. This place near Petrovsky Stadium was opened by a group of friends for their friends. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and watching football matches in the company of Zenit magazine editors is even more interesting than doing the same in the fan zone.

This is the best (or, at the very least, the fanciest) English pub with a portrait of Queen Victoria, embossed wallpaper, head pillows in the bathrooms, darts, oak tables and solid chairs. The most important thing here is beer. All taps are checked and the beer hoses blown several times a day. There is some barrel beer and dozens of bottled varieties.
Genuine Belgium or, rather, lots of genuine Belgian beer. For those unsure of what to try, there’s a beer “carrousel” - five tasting glasses. The rest get their beer in fancy goblets (each tap of beer has its own kind) served with French fries, mussels or waterzooi Flemish soups.
The variety of whiskeys is greater than the beer and the kitchen only pretends to be Scottish. But there are lots of people and TVs broadcast Formula-1 races, football, badminton and hockey.
“Barrel” stands for 30 kinds of tap beer, while “mince” means a dozen kinds of sausages that are made on the premises. The mince is made from duck, poultry, veal, pork and lamb meat. There are some vegetarian sausages as well. Make sure to bring cash, credit cards are not accepted.

The guests watch the football on the second floor, while the mature taps of Belgian beer are kept in the basement. The beer is accompanied by burgers and delicious White and Black Sea mussels.

Eggs with mayo, anchovy sandwiches, hot dogs with peas, vodka and beer are a perfect menu for a respectable vodka bar. This perfect image is somewhat tainted by the appearance of Limincello and cider, but in the eyes of connoisseurs. Everyone else is more than happy to meet the favourite football players and sports commentator Gennady Orlov who frequent this place.

Belgian, English and Hawaiian beer (Kirin) as well as craft beers from local micro breweries and lots of exquisite appetisers that are eaten with your hands: Italian risotto balls arancini, beef carpaccio, pasta, grilled vegetables and pizzas. And, of course, several large-screen TVs to watch the sports.
A bar chain for all of those wishing to partake in centuries-old traditions of Irish brewers. The menu counts 10 different types of draft beer, apple cider, more than 70 types of whiskey and a selection of cocktails. There is also a big selection of food – stake, shish kebabs as well as wide variety of hot and cold snacks. One of the bar’s traditions is to offer visitors free shots every time Russia national team scores.
