Activists of the Don State Technical University volunteer center for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, as well as city volunteers of Rostov-on-Don participated in organizing and conducting the match of the third qualifying round of the Champions League “Rostov vs Anderlecht”. Rostov ended its debut match in the most prestigious club football tournament in a 2:2 draw.

The Don State Technical University volunteer center told Welcome2018.com, volunteer activists primarily assisted in the work with the audience - were engaged in seating guests and crowd flow control. Volunteers talked with fans, helping them find their way to the stands, and then together cheered for their favorite team.

“The atmosphere in the stadium is incredible,” Daria Lazarchuk shared her experience. “This is an important match, not only for our team but also for us, volunteers, because this is such a unique opportunity – working on your skills in competitions of the international level. We all supported “Rostov” and the team showed a good game," she added.

The day before the match, another activist Valeria Teterina from the Don State Technical University center started her volunteer career. For two days she accompanied the UEFA delegate at all meetings and events, and helped guests with translation.

"Two days side by side with the UEFA delegate were a great experience, unbelievable emotions and emotional uplift. I experienced my future profession and it is amazing! I would like to thank volunteer center for the support and the opportunity to acquire such experience," she said.
