Activists of the 2018 FIFA World Cup volunteer center will participate in the organization of the Russian Youth League finals, the Volgograd State University volunteer center “Proryv” told Welcome2018.com.
The final stage for teams of players born in 2001 starts on June 21 in Volgograd. 40 activists of the Volgograd State University will be involved in the tournament’s organization in various fields, including "Working with teams", "Working on the stadium", "Ceremonies", "Transport" and others. Volunteers go through an interview process and training that will increase their expertise in conducting similar activities.
"This is the first time I participate in such large-scale event,” volunteer, student of the Volgograd State University Marina Tikhonova said. “I am glad that volunteers will have the opportunity to communicate with the teams, learn about their activities, gain experience in working with athletes."
Director of the Volunteer Centre Ivan Radko noted the importance of the championship as a platform for gaining experience. “For our volunteers this is a great platform to gain experience and to further use it,” Radko said. “We did our best to make the recruitment process as close as possible to the 2018 World Cup procedure – volunteers registered, they were interviewed, those who have been admitted were trained. Activists told us about sports volunteering, talked about football, expertise, and in the second block they solved practical and situational cases that arise in interaction with various client groups. I'm sure these volunteers will gain great experience and we will be able to identify leaders among the Volunteer center activists," he added.
Teams of football academies and school sports clubs such as Zenit (St. Petersburg), FC Krasnodar, Moscow Spartak, CSKA, Locomotiv, Dinamo, team of Rotor Academy participate in the Championship. The matches will be held from June 21 to July 3 in 4 stadiums - Tractor, Olympia, Zenit and Loginov Central Stadium, Volzhsky.
