Introducing Krasava - Official Match Ball for the Confederations Cup 2017

Adidas officially presented the ball named Krasava, which will be used at the FIFA Confederation Cup 2017 matches, according to the company’s press service.

"Adidas presents Krasava - the Official Match Ball for the Confederations Cup 2017. The ball’s design is inspired by the beauty of the game and precious stones," the statement read.

"Fans can surely expect to see many beautiful goals at the Confederations Cup., because words ‘krasava’ and ‘krasiviy’ [beautiful] have the same root," said 2018 World Cup Ambassador Alexei Smertin. The former Russian national-team captain is also a FIFA Legend, a rank given out to male and female players, whose mission is to support and promote football across the world. "I have no doubts that fans all over the world will like of the name, it sounds pleasant not only for Russian-speakers.

The Confederations Cup 2017 will be held in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Sochi and Kazan from June 17 to July 2, 2017. Seven of the eight Confederations Cup participants are already known: the national teams of Russia (the tournament host), Germany (2014 World Champion), Portugal (2016 Champion of Europe), Australia (2015 Asian Cup Champion), Chili (2015 Copa America Champion), Mexico (2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup Champion), New Zealand (2016 OFC Nations Cup Champions). The finalist of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place on February 5, will become the eighth team to take part in the Confederations Cup.
