The Congress of the International Football Federation (FIFA) in Mexico City testified that Gianni Infantino is the true leader the organization needed, believes Aleksey Sorokin, CEO of Russia-2018 Organizing Committee.

The 66th FIFA Congress in Mexico City was Infantino’s first in the capacity of FIFA President.

"The Congress said it all. It showed that the new FIFA President is true leader,” Sorokin said. “Football was discussed at length. The keynote of the congress was the return of FIFA back to football, and football back to FIFA. Infantino has done a lot in the 80 days that he has been in office. Much of what the previous congress had planned has been realized. The FIFA reform, for instance.”

Gianni Infantino was elected FIFA President at an extraordinary congress in Zurich, Switzerland, at the end of February.
