Arturo Vidal: Chile team dedicates its victory over Cameroon to flood victims

The midfielder thanked the fans, who "created homelike atmosphere"

Chile's soccer players dedicated their victory over Cameroon in the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017 match to Chile flood victims. Chilean team midfielder  Arturo Vidal said at the post-match press conference.

Chileans defeated Cameroon with a score of 2 - 0 in the Group B first round match. The game took place on Sunday in Moscow at the Spartak Stadium. Vidal was recognized by the fans as the best player of the match and won the Bud Man of the Match prize.

On Sunday night, it was reported that the flood claimed four lives and several thousand people were left homeless because of the rains and snowfall, that caused flooding in southern and central Chile.

"I would like to dedicate the victory to all the  natural disaster victims in Chile. I thank everyone who supported us, many fans came here, they created a homelike atmosphere," Vidal said.

Footballer noted that he was pleased with the result of the game. "I'm pleased with how everything turned out in the end," he said, "We aimed to score, displayed attacking football, which pleased the fans."

Chile will play June 22 in Kazan against Germany, and then on June 25 in Moscow it will meet the Australia national team.
