Cameroon earns final spot among squads qualified for Confederations Cup 2017

All eight squads which are to come to Russia have been determined

Cameroon’s national team became the eighth and final squad to be qualified for the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017, which will take place in Russia

Cameroon won the Africa Cup of Nations, beating Egypt in the final 2:1.

“Cameroon will play in Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Sochi during the Confederations Cup 2017 group stage,” General Director of the Organising Committee “Russia 2018” Alexey Sorokin wrote on his official Twitter account.


Thus, the final list of qualified Confederations Cup participants been determined. Apart from Cameroon, the tournament will see Confederations Cup host Russia, 2014 FIFA World Cup Champions Germany, 2016 UEFA European Champions Portugal, 2015 Copa America Champions Chile, CONCACAF Gold Cup winners Mexico, 2015 Asian Cup Champion Australia and Oceania Football Confederation Nations Cup winners New Zealand.

The Confederations Cup will take place from June 17 to July 2 in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Sochi and Kazan.

Russia national team will play New Zealand, Portugal and Mexico in the group stage.
