Ded Moroz charity run to be held in Moscow on December 20

The charity run will be held for the second consecutive year at the initiative of the project Fun Runs

About 1,500 of people dressed as Ded Moroz, as well as snowflakes and bunnies will participate in a charity run on December 20 for 5 km and 10 km on the territory of the All-Russia Exhibition Centre (VDNKH) to help terminally ill children under the care of the Vera charity fund, the fund’s press service reported.

"Those who are not ready to run, but want to help, will have the opportunity to become “a lazy Ded Moroz." To do this, you need to make a donation via the website of the project and get a special electronic medal to your e-mail," the press-service said.

All funds raised through the run will go to help terminally ill children

The organizers of the charity marathon noted that all the funds raised through the run will go to help terminally ill children, supported by Vera - for medicine, special food, care products and, of course, New Year's gifts.

Currently the fund supports 150 families with seriously ill children in almost all regions of Russia, who regularly receive financial, psychological and legal support.

The race is being held the second consecutive year at the initiative of the project Fun Runs.

"Registration for participation will last until December 15. After this the participants will receive costumes," the press-service said.

Ded Moroz orchestra at Moscow railway stations

Passengers of six Moscow stations will be able listen to the New Year's performance of the Ded Moroz orchestra. On December 25 and 30 from 10:00 to 13:00 musicians will perform popular jazz compositions in costumes, according to the website of the Moscow city administration.

"On December 25 jazz orchestra will perform at Leningradsky, Yaroslavsky and the Kursky railway stations. On December 30, the performances will be held at Kievsky, Paveletsky and Belorussky railway stations. The New Year orchestra musicians will perform in the framework of the project "Music at railway stations", the report said.

Letter to Ded Moroz

Annual event "Letter to Ded Moroz" also start at Moscow railway stations. Children can write letters directly on the platforms and in waiting rooms. These messages will be sent in Veliky Ustyug, Ded Moroz residence, by mail. The event will be held from December 10 to 13 at Yaroslavsky, Kursky, the Belorussky railway stations.

In addition, Ded Moroz and Snegurochka will wish everybody a happy New Year at railway stations, and on December 17, the Russian Railways orchestra will perform at the Paveletsky railway station.

From December 26 to 30 and January 2-3, New Year celebrations will be organized for orphans at Kazansaky railway station.
