Background

Mordovia Arena

The area of the stadium building totals 122,137.74 sqm. The highest point of the building is 50.1 m. The facility is easily accessible by public transit from the north-eastern part of Saransk. The arena is 5 km away from the airport, 2.4 km away from the railway station, and 4.8 km away from the bus terminal.

The stadium has three tiers of spectator stalls with a total of 45,000 seats. The stalls are divided into isolated sectors to discourage brawls between fans. When the arena goes into Legacy mode, some stalls in the top tier (about 15,000 seats) will be dismantled, and the newly freed-up space will accommodate health centres and various commercial enterprises.
