The foundation of the three stands of the Ekaterinburg stadium, East, North and South, which undergoes a large-scale reconstruction for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, is already set. The works on the foundation for West stands are 35% ready, according to the Public Relations Center of the Sinara Group - developer of the stadium.
"Now the works on setting vertical structures for beams supporting stands in in progress. We also began working on the installation of inclined beams for the stands in northern and southern parts of the stadium. The seat will be installed on this frame,” the Group said.
Installation of the stadium roof was also started. "Eight pylons will provide support for the roof. The weight of core constructions of the shed total 7.5 tonnes,” representative of the developer said.
Ekaterinburg will host four matches of the group stage of the 2018 World Cup. The reconstruction of the city's main stadium, which will change its name to "Ekaterinburg Arena" is currently in progress. The stadium will have 35,000 seats.
At the end of July 2015, the first venue of the 2018 World Cup was open in Ekaterinburg after the reconstruction – a stadium that will become a training base for one of the participating teams during the World Cup.
