An additional lane for traffic will be allocated on the Volokolamsky highway on the section from the Moscow channel to the Leningradsky Highway. According to the head of the Moscow Traffic Management Centre Vadim Yuryev, the decision was taken by the city authorities ahead of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017. In a year's time, the same lane will be dedicated once again during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™.

"As a part of the world football championship in Moscow an additional lane will be allocated on the Volokolamsky highway from the Moscow channel to the Leningradsky highway," he said.

According to him, the allocation of the temporary additional lane will provide transport accessibility for fan buses. In the adjoining areas the traffic scheme will be changed. Temporary changes will affect the Tushinsky tunnel, as well as 6 streets adjacent to the Spartak Stadium neighgborhood.

"Moreover, parking spaces for tourist buses at 11 addresses have already been arranged in Moscow. There are 16 bus parking lots in the city," Yuryev added.

In the summer of 2017 Russia will host the Confederations Cup. Four matches are scheduled in Moscow, all of them will be held at the Spartak stadium in Tushino.
