Dmitry Medvedev invites PRC head to 2018 World Cup

Premier noted that preparations for the Championship are nearing completion

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that the Chinese leaders are expected in Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™.

"It's no secret that Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping loves football, that's why we will be happy to expect the Chinese leaders and everyone who wants to come to the World Cup in our country," the head of the Russian Cabinet said.

He stressed that preparations for the Championship are close to completion. "Of course, we are now actively preparing for the World Cup," said Dmitry Medvedev, "It's not easy, because the tournament will take place in a large number of cities, they all need to be build stadiums, create infrastructure. This is a major undertaking, and it is already nearing completion".

The Preme Minister expressed hope that the fans will be comfortable in Russia. According to him, they will be able to move freely between the cities of the World Cup using their FAN ID. This document will resolve issues related to entering Russia, traveling between cities on extra trains and in cities by public transport.

The World Championship will be held from June 14 to July 15, 2018 in 11 cities: Moscow, Kaliningrad, Saint Petersburg, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi and Ekaterinburg.
