The FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 area for watching matches on Konnushennaya Ploschad (Square) in Saint Petersburg was visited by 140 thousand people during the tournament. This was reported by the vice-governor of Saint Petersburg, Vladimir Kirillov.

Saint Petersburg became the only Confederations Cup host city, where a fan zone was organized.

"About 140 thousand spectators visited the fan zone, there were no issues related to the riots and hooligan actions," Kirillov said.

The fan zone on Konyushennaya Ploschad (Square) was open to all visitors free of charge. The city authorities expect that the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ fan zone will be organized at the same site.
