The young turf of the Saint Petersburg Stadium coped with the burden during the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017 group stage, as stated by the FIFA media service.

"FIFA is working closely with the LOC and turf experts to ensure an optimal field for the participants of the Confederations Cup," the report said. "Despite the fact that the young turf was laid at the end of May, it coped well with the load of the three matches and the opening ceremony. Now experts have seven days to restore the field and prepare it for the final."

The final of the Confederations Cup will be held in Saint Petersburg on July 2.
