Activists from the volunteer centre at Sinergiya University, the mission of which is to train volunteers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™, helped out at one of the sports facilities during Sports Day festival at Luzhniki in Moscow.

This year Sports Day was timed to coincide with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Luzhniki, the main arena of the 2018 World Cup. Luzhniki had over 60 sports fields operating during the festival, hosting competitions in football, BMX, mountain biking, freestyle, street football, and so on. Athletes came from 50 countries to take part in the competitions.

Activists of the volunteer centre told the Sports Day audience about the 2018 World Cup Volunteer Programme, covering the application process, screening stages, the functional areas available for volunteer work, and much more.

"We were impressed by how many people are interested in the 2018 World Cup Volunteer Programme,” said Marina Shapovalova, a staff member of the volunteer centre. “Many in the audience wanted to know how to get on the volunteer team for the 2018 World Cup, and the details of volunteer work in specific functional areas. It’s great to see how, thanks to our outreach effort, interest in the 2018 World Cup Volunteer Programme keeps rising with every passing day.”
