Japanese volunteers will arrive in Ekaterinburg to exchange experience with Ural colleagues prior to the 2018 World Cup and the 2020 Summer Olympics, according to Director of the 2018 World Cup volunteer center based on the Ural Federal University Alexander Antimonov.

"For us it is important to tell the Japanese delegation about the volunteer program of the World Cup in Russia.  The knowledge and experience they will receive in Ekaterinburg, hopefully, will be used in the development of volunteer program for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo," Antimonov said.

According to the Department of Information Policy of the Sverdlovsk region Governor, the Japanese delegation will come to Ekaterinburg on June 16 as part of the Russian-Japanese Youth Forum that will be held in Russia on June 14-18.

The Ural Federal University earlier became one of the volunteer training centers for the 2018 World Cup and the 2017 Confederations Cup. The center is expected to train 4,000 volunteers for the World Cup matches in Ekaterinburg.
