The meeting of the representatives of volunteer centers for 2018 World Cup at the stadium Kazan Arena

Meeting of representatives of volunteer centers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia from the host cities Ekaterinburg, Samara and Kazan was held at the Kazan Arena stadium. Volunteers from Ekaterinburg and Samara, together with colleagues from Orenburg and Chelyabinsk worked at the European Judo Championship among men and women.

Volunteers went on a tour of the stadium Kazan Arena. The tour helped volunteers to feel the special atmosphere of the arena that hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2013 World Summer Universiade, as well as the 16th FINA World Championships. The volunteers saw the stadium bowl, the conference room, the VIP-tribune, the media zone, changing rooms and training rooms, commentator boxes and visited the playing field.

In his opening speech, General Director of ANO Executive Directorate for Sports Projects in Kazan Azat Kadyrov noted the importance and effectiveness of such meetings. He thanked the regional leaders who support the volunteer movement and provided this opportunity for the development of talented and active young people. Such meetings, according to Kadyrov, provide great opportunity to share experiences and best practices regarding the organization of the work of volunteers, to discuss options for further cooperation.

Kadyrov shared some details of the preparation of the events before the Championship with guests - the draw for the 2017 Confederations Cup on November 26, 2016, and the Confederations Cup itself. Four matches of the tournament will be held in Kazan in the summer of 2017.

"Visiting an operating stadium - is a very special feeling. The scale is simply breathtaking, and the imagination tries to picture how it will look when the stadium is full of fans from around the world. Turns out, the stadium has a form of a water lily,” the Ural Federal University student Nikolai Murashov said. “Kazan is a wonderful city, clean and beautiful. People here are friendly and very kind. Of course, it is interesting to talk with volunteers from other cities, our meeting was an excellent opportunity to share ideas - something I will bring to the work of our center, and our experience will be useful to others. My internship has just begun, and I am sure many more important and interesting things are coming in the future. I already dream of coming here again, for example during the Confederations Cup next year," he said.
