Volunteer Center based at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) became an officially certified center for training volunteers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The center will train activists in the following functional areas: protocol service for teams, language services, the FIFA Congress, the "Observer" program and interaction with the media.
The assessment sheet of the Certification Commission included criteria such as the infrastructure usability, legal framework, ability of the university to receive thousands of volunteer candidates, and provide comfortable working conditions for staff and volunteer center activists.
The Commission members talked with future volunteers and told them about the features of functions such as interaction with media and protocol, as well as answered the students' questions. Head of the volunteer program at MGIMO Narine Lalayan presented to the Commission communication plan to attract volunteers to participate in the World Cup.
Director of Volunteer Department of the Organizing Committee “Russia 2018” Tatiana Gomzyakova, member of the Certification Commission, noted a great interest of the students. "We are pleased to see an active team of students at MGIMO, who are willing to work and develop volunteer center. We are glad to see and first people – enthusiastic volunteers,” Gomzyakova said. “We hope that all you pass the selection process and will contribute to the most significant and cheerful sporting event in the world,” she added.
