Mobile app for tourists presented in Kaliningrad region

According to Andrey Ermak, Tourism Minister of the Kaliningrad Region, the application can help tourists to plan the trip

The presentation of a mobile application designed to assist guests in the region was held in Svetlogorsk, Kaliningrad region. The application, called 39Russia, was presented at the meeting on the development of tourism.

“39Russia offers several services, including itinerary, contacting the hotel, video walks for various sites, etc.,” Tourism Minister of the Kaliningrad Region Andrey Ermak said. “With this application tourists can easily plan their trip," he added.

Ermak noted that in 2016 the administration of the Yantarny city district (part of the Kaliningrad region) will participate in the international program of voluntary ecological certification of beaches Blue Flag. As part of the program specialists choose beaches that meet strict standards for water quality, safety, and environmental education. The budget for the district participation is 3.5 million rubles that well be spent on the necessary equipment.

The tourism results of 2015 were summed up at the meeting: by more than 1 million tourists visited the Kaliningrad region in total. An increase of 20-25% is expected in 2016. "We set ambitious goals in increasing the number of tourists and developing the tourism industry in our region,” the governor of the Kaliningrad region Nikolay Tsukanov said. “There is much to do in creating an infrastructure. All tourists that have visited the Kaliningrad region should want to come back again," he added.
