More than 160 New Year fairs will be open in the Moscow region in 2015 starting from December, the Ministry of Consumer Market and Services of Moscow region press service said.

"This year the Moscow region will host more than 160 New Year fairs, for comparison - only 80 themed New Year fairs were held in December 2014. Thus, we see a clear trend – there are twice as many New Year fairs in the region this year," the Minister of Consumer Market and Services of the Moscow region, Vladimir Posazhennikov said.

According to Posazhennikov, each themed fair has a special flavor: styling, particular qualities of goods, entertainment programs.

"We recommend that all sellers participating in fairs pay special attention to the look of trading platforms. It is not just about festive decorations of tents and advertising banners, but also about such details as sellers’ festive clothes, counters and display cases decorations. Given the fact that the light day in winter is much shorter, each fair shall have lights," Posazhennikov added. He noted that the product line of themed fairs would expand significantly with New Year’s items: tree decorations, garlands, tinsel, gifts and souvenirs. In addition, fairs should be a place where every citizen would be able to purchase all the necessary products for the New Year's table at the lowest prices.

"I am sure that the sellers take the organization of fairs with maximum responsibility, will adhere to our recommendations and gift the residents of the Moscow region a true holiday," Posazhennikov said.
