More than 300 drivers took part in the "Riding towards the championship" car rally in Volgograd

A road rally in support of the 2018 World Cup Russia™ took place in Volgograd between September 5 and 9. More than 300 people took part, all receiving souvenirs with the symbol of Volgograd, one of the city-hosts of the championship, and getting prizes from the event partner.

A Huyndai Creta with the 2018 World Cup Russia™ symbol would park somewhere in the city which is connected to the championship from Monday to Friday a. The rally took place in Mamayev Kurgan, next to the Volgograd Arena which is currently under construction; on the lower embankment named after the 62 Army where the FIFA Fan Fest will take place in 2018; next to the Volgograd State University which hosts one of the 2018 World Cup Russia™ volunteer centres; on Marshal Zhukov Prospect – one of the main traffic artery; and in Pavshikh Bortsov Square (square of fallen fighters), where an all-Russian record of mass keepie uppie was set during celebrations in honor of 1000 days left till the 2018 World Cup.

Hosts of the "Tri-chetire " morning radio programme disclosed the exact location of the car each morning, telling their listeners about interesting facts and stories connected to the World Cup and about how Volgograd is preparing for the championship.

The first three participants to get to the car were awarded with valuable prizes. The phrase "I’m riding towards the Championship" said on air was the password for prizes. Nobody among the participants was left without the 2018 World Cup and Volgograd souvenirs.
