All those wishing to apply may do so via the mosvolonter.ru website

Moscow opened its volunteer centre for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™, offering all those wishing to join the city’s volunteer forces to apply via the mosvolonter.ru website.

There are two volunteer programmes for the World Cup – Local Organising Committee Volunteer Programme and Host City Volunteer Programme.

While the Organising Committee is responsible for volunteers at World Cup venues, Host City volunteers will introduce the guests to cities and work at host city information stands.

What they all have in common is their devotion to create a festive atmosphere and volunteer at World Cup events. Both programmes have common goals and recruitment procedures, they select and train volunteers, plan their roles and activities.

Host City Volunteer Programme has always been an important part of oranising and holding major sports events. It helped create a hospitable and comfortable atmosphere for the cities’ guests.

Candidates as young as 16 are allowed to become Host City volunteers, which is a much lower bar than that set for Organising Committee volunteers.
