Moscow Mayor: each district will have football field with heating

Each administrative district of Moscow will have new football fields with heating systems, designed for playing at any time of the year, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said during his visit to Chertanovo Sport and Education Center.

"In addition to the football field in Chertanovo, we will create these fields at sports schools in each administrative district of Moscow This will increase the level of training of our athletes," Sobyanin said. According to him, the city has about 1,000 sports fields, including yards, school playgrounds and parks.

"In recent years we have put most of these fields in order," the Mayor said. He recalled that in preparation for 2018 FIFA World Cup, Dynamo and Luzhniki stadiums will open in Moscow after reconstructions, as well as new CSKA Stadium. "Moscow will be one of the most “football” capitals in the world," the Mayor said.

He also congratulated Chertanovo football school with the 40th anniversary that will be celebrated in August. "It's one of the best schools today, not only in Moscow, but in Russia. It assembled a group of serious professionals, coaches. In the last five years alone, roughly 50 graduates are already representing the best professional football clubs. For the 40th anniversary, we came with a gift - this great field, gym, stands," Sobyanin said.

The football field is located in Sumskoy passage. This is an artificial field, equipped with a heating system, unique in Moscow. Stands with nearly 500 seats was constructed with lightweight steel structures. Next to arena, there is a two-storey administrative building with acrobatic and fitness rooms, coaching facilities, medical offices and other facilities.
