Construction of the new bus station "Shcherbinka" finished in Nizhny Novgorod. "Construction of the bus station "Shcherbinka" is the first step in the implementation of a new concept of accommodation of bus stations recommended for the World Cup. The concept includes transferring bus stations from the central part of the city and redistribution of passenger load," the Ministry noted.
"Shcherbinka" but station will work in two directions - Arzamaskoye and Pavlovskoye.
"During the World Cup this route will connect Nizhny Novgorod with another host city of the 2018 World Cup - Saransk. Most likely, the bus station will be equipped with intercept parking. We expect from 5% to 10% of tourists during the World Cup will come to the city using this route," the Ministry said.
18 buses have already extended their routes, so that the residents of the city to could get to the new bus station.
The Ministry also said that in preparation for the World Cup it is planned to build three new bus stations: "Orlovskie dvoriki", "Meschera", and "Kazanskaya".
The distance between Nizhniy Novgorod and Saransk is little less than 300 km. In 2018 Saransk will host 4 games of the group stage of the World Cup, and Nizhny Novgorod will host 6 matches - 4 games in the group stage, one 1/8 match, and one quarter-final.
