The resort town of Svetlogorsk in Kaliningrad region is planning to finish a new promenade by the time World Cup 2018 arrives to Russia.
The press service of the regional government told welcome2018.com that the decision was made during a meeting of the Federal Tourism Agency.
Garry Goldman noted: “This facility is an important part of the Rauchen cluster development. In 2017 the promenade has to be completed. Developing tourism is an important strategic agenda for Kaliningrad region.”
Oleg Safonov, head of the Federal Tourism Agency, highlighted that it was important to create a ferry network, along with maritime transportation in the region. The official added that Kaliningrad is a leading region in terms of tourism development.
