New water park to be built in Saransk

Saransk is expected to build a water park in time for the FIFA 2018 World Cup. It will require an plot of land with an area of 2 hectares and the head of the Republic of Mordovia, Vladimir Volkov, believes that the perfect places for this project is between the new football stadium (currently under construction) and the Yubileyny district.

The waterpark’s planned dimensions are 42 by 66 metres; it’s capacity is up 500 people. The swimming pool will be divided into adult and children zones. The equipment will be purchased from leading European companies, with security of the park being the principal factor. The expected price for a single person 3-hour ticket is 550 rubles.

A special family centre is also planned as part of the water park. It will offer a wide variety of healthcare and entertainment services. For example, a special rehabilitation program for children with cerebral palsy will be developed. The basement of the water park will house a fitness centre with a total area of 1,100 square metres.

The project’s required investment amount is estimated at one billion rubles. It’s expected that the construction will take 18 months. The contractor will be determined through a tender procedure shortly.
