The Local Organising Committee Russia 2018 is satisfied with the attendance of the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017 first matches This was stated by the LOC Chairman, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vitaly Mutko.

The Confederations Cup started on June 17 with a match between the national teams of Russia and New Zealand, which took place in Saint Petersburg (50,251 spectators). On June 18, the Portuguese tied the game with the Mexicans at the Kazan Arena (34,372), and the Chileans defeated the Cameroonians in Moscow at Spartak Stadium (33,492).

"Attendance could be higher, but what we see is an objective figures." It's clear that everyone wants to get to the matches with the Russia national team, but we see good support also in other games. Overall, we are satisfied with attendance," said Mutko.

According to him, tickets of the fourth category, intended for citizens of the Russian Federation, are especially well bought up. "We hope that in the course of the tournament even more fans will go to the stadiums," Mutko said.

The Cup of Confederations will last until July 2.
