The Luzhniki Stadium lighting system can be controlled from a tablet. Moscow Construction Department media service told that an automatic transfer switch system was introduced at the main arena for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™. The system allows to avoid emergency situations, such as a power outage during the game and TV broadcast cut-off.

"The stadium arena, external and internal lighting control systemprovides sequential powering of powerful arena lighting to avoid sudden power systems overload when turned on," media service relays the words of the head of the Moscow Construction Department Andrey Bochkarev "Exterior lighting is controlled by the most energy-efficient algorithms, taking into account time of day, natural lighting and overall network load. It's fascinating that such a complex system can be controlled not only using special control desk, but a regular tablet."

In early 2017 installation of 348 floodlights was completed. They will illuminate the field during the events. More than 20 thousand LED lamps were provided for lighting of interior rooms under the stands. Their installation will be completed in March. In addition, more than 150 special spotlights will be used for lighting of the stadium stands.
