Alexander Gorbenko, deputy mayor of Moscow responsible for regional security and information policy, said around 60 hotels with a rating of 3 to 5 stars will be built in Moscow ahead of the 2018 World Cup.

Most of them will have a rating of three or four stars. The city needs such hotels. Moreover, infrastructure improvement efforts are well underway

Gorbenko added: “Designated transport lanes, which will be used to transport fans during the World Cup, are currently operating efficiently. Three of our airports have express trains with the travel time to the city of under 45 minutes. As far as security is concerned, the city will do everything in its power. In 2016 FIFA will provide specifications for these issues, then we’ll have the necessary requirements. Overall, we are not underfinanced.”
