Reconstruction of the 2018 World Cup training base in Lipetsk to begin by year’s end

About 150 million roubles will be spend on repairing the Metallurg Stadium in Lipetsk, which will become one of the FIFA 2018 World Cup Russia™ training bases, according to the Lipetsk city administration.

"Football training grounds will be created on the basis of the Metallurg central stadium. The estimated cost of this reconstruction is about 150 million roubles," the administration said.

Local authorities also noted that reconstruction works will begin in 2016. "The field will be completely renewed and after the reconstruction it will have heating and irrigation systems. The grandstands and adjoined structures will also be reconstructed. The works are set to be completed in May 2018," the administration stated.
