The Russia Cup final match may be held at Luzhniki, the main stadium of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™. That’s according to the president of the Russian Football Premier League (RFPL) Sergey Pryadkin.

“We have a decision, which was voiced that the executive committee of the Russian Football Union by its president Vitaly Mutko,” Pryadkin said. “Yes, it’s great to promote Russian football, play in different regions, but we have decided that the finals of the Russia Cup and the Russian Super Cup should be played in Moscow at the Luzhniki stadium. It’s supposed to open in 2017 and become the home for our national team for important matches. At the moment I’m not going to say that the 2017 Russian Super Cup will definitely be held in Moscow, but I suppose we will discuss this matter at the next general meeting of the RFPL in January.”
