Hollywood star Robert De Niro will come to Russia on November 9 as a co-owner of the Japanese restaurant Nobu, which will open in Crocus City Mall.

In 1987, the actor headed the jury of the Moscow International Film Festival. Ten years later, he came back to Russia and noted that the capital has changed a lot. He was particularly struck by the city during the night time - "full of lights, with many different clubs." In 2009, he personally opened the first Nobu restaurant on Bolshaya Dmitrovka street. It was the Moscow branch of a large chain of Japanese restaurants, which he co-owns.

Now De Niro is 72. He is one of the leading actors of the American cinema. Becoming a "star" was an accident: at one reception a novice actor was presented to the famous film director Martin Scorsese. Later they produced 6 films together. Francis Ford Coppola noticed De Niro’s talent at once. He needed an actor for the part of young Vito Corleone for the second installment of “The Godfather”. De Niro became that actor and later won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Among the other famous works of De Niro are "Mean Streets," "Taxi Driver," "New York, New York", "The King of Comedy," "Brazil," "Analyze This," "Meet the Parents". The actor once again received the Academy Award for the film "Raging Bull". However, many consider his role in the American film by Italian film director Sergio Leone “Once Upon a Time in America” (1984) to be his best work.
