Rostov-on-Don’s residents put together football themed Christmas decorations on Gorky square as part of the # YavkomandeRostov (#ЯвкомандеРостов) project translated as “I’m on Rostov’s team.”

The city’s residents spent three weeks creating their very own elements of the decorations. All those interested were offered master classes showcasing various methods of decoration. People could create their own elements right on the square. It took around five hours to put the decorations together and it turned out to be more than 100 meters long.

"The World Cup is a significant event for the city and its residents. The people and the emotions form our city’s image. The creation of the decorations is a unique moment of solidarity, of a common cause, which is connected to a major event. Rostov’s residents were able to create these decorations together, they put a lot of meaning into this small thing. We truly are a team, creating atmosphere of a highly-anticipated event," noted Rostov-2018 chief Pavel Gavrikov
