Future city volunteers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia participated in the annual Gastronomic Festival "Donskaya Ukha" (Don Fish Soup) in Rostov-on-Don.

The team of the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov region and the "Rostov-2018" training center for the 2018 World Cup city volunteers organized an interactive platform for the guests of the festival, which was held on July 2 in Khutor Kurgan, Azovsky District of the Rostov region. Activists held competitions and promotions, registered residents of Rostov-on-Don and the Rostov region as city volunteers for the 2018 World Cup.

"This festival is known far beyond the Don region. The Rostov region is rich in tourist attractions, which include “Sholokhov Spring”, “Donskaya Loza”, song festival “Soul Strings”, and the festival of military-historical clubs dedicated to Don and Zaporozhye Cossacks defending Azov against the Turkish army in 1641-1642. We have stunning locations: Starocherkasskaya, Taganrog, Novocherkassk, Romanovskaya ... By order of the Governor, we will promote the region’s tourist potential in Russia and the world," Minister of Economic Development of the Rostov region Maxim Papushenko said at the opening ceremony of the festival.

In 2016, the festival was held for the 9th time and attracted more than 3,000 guests from the Rostov region and the neighboring regions. Don fish soup is one of the main dishes of the Cossack cuisine; it is included in the list of the most popular national dishes in Russia.
