Saint Petersburg has concluded the trial period for new bus routes which are destined to transport fans to the 2017 Confederations Cup matches, according to a statement released by Passazhiravtotrans.

Throughout November and December Specialists traveled through 10 routes which will transport spectators to the stadium located at Krestovsky Island from the metro stations Chkalovskaya, Petrogradskaya, Vyborgskaya, and Sportivnaya. Other connections include parking facilities at the Primorsky and Petrogradsky districts of the city.

Buses with a capacity of 170 passengers were used for the trial run. 125 such vehicles, all purchased this year, will be delivered to the city in March of 2017. Non-stop operation with no lags was one of the focal points of the project. Experts also evaluated bus stops in terms of facilitation of easy and safe passenger boarding and disembarking. The routes will be finalized early next year.
