One of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ organisers and Saransk Ambassador Tatiana Gordeeva visited an orphanage in Mordovia. Volunteers from Mordovian State University accompanied the famous radio host.

Gordeeva wished the children a happy New Year and gave them mini football goal posts. She also gave the children a letter and presents from another Saransk Ambassador, actor Stanislav Duzhnikov, who sent them table tennis set.

"Stanislav Duzhnikov and I met a while back, when we both were students in Saransk and even went to the same dance studio. We also keep in touch with Igor Butman and met Alexei Nemov at several World Cup events. We have a great team!" Gordeeva said.

"It’s a very warm family place with very friendly, open and talented children. I happened to be in Saransk and couldn’t miss the opportunity to go talk. After I received a very touching letter from the kids, I really wanted to go to them. Besides, today I also play the role of a postman – students from Moscow’s Lyceum № 1564 named after Hero of the Soviet Union A.P. Beloborodov gathered a bag full of gifts and asked me to bring it to the orphanage," Gordeeva added.

The volunteers organized a football lesson and sports games for the children.
