Saransk universities agree to support the 2018 World Cup volunteer programme

A meeting of the Council of Rectors of the Republic of Mordovia was held in Mordovia State University where participants discussed current issues related to implementing the FIFA World Cup Russia™ Volunteer Programme in Saransk.

In the course of the meeting, Mordovia State University signed a cooperation agreement on the Volunteer Programme with all the Republic’s higher education institutions. Mordovia State Pedagogical Institute, Saransk Cooperative Institute, Mordovian Humanitarian Institute, All-Russian State University of Justice (Russian Law Academy of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation), Mid-Volga Institute (branch) in Saransk, Saranks branch of Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.

According to the Mordovia State University volunteer centre Director Irkyam Sorkov, Saransk received more than 5,500 applications from 54 countries. Registration will be closed on December 30 It will be impossible to apply after this date, but all who registered earlier will be able to take tests and go through interviews during the first quarter of 2017.

A three-level training system will be offered to the selected volunteers and after they will assist the best of the world’s specialists during the championship itself.
