A large pedestrian area is planned next to Moscow’s new CSKA stadium, which will serve as a pre-game training ground for the national teams during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™, welcome2018.com was informed today by the deputy mayor of Moscow for urban development policy and construction Marat Khusnullin.

"The pedestrian area will be located between the new CSKA stadium, the Metro station and the platform of the Maloye railway ring,” Khusnullin said. “At Khodynskoye Polye next door, a new park will be created in the aviation style.”

"The design of the park is almost finished,” he said. “It’s supposed to be ready next year. Once the park is there, Khodynskoye Polye will emerge as a new recreational destination for the city.”

The deputy mayor reminded welcome2018.com that the new CSKA stadium is scheduled to open this summer. It will have a seating capacity of 30,000. In addition to the football pitch, the sports complex will include a museum of the Central Sports Club of the Army, a sports school for children and teens, a medical centre, some shops, restaurants and a hotel.
