Luzhniki stadium to host Champions League matches

CSKA Moskow will host home matches of the group stage of the Champions League at the Luzhniki stadium - the main arena of the 2018 FIFA World Cup

"The UEFA  inspection commission was satisfied with the results of the arena assessment and approved the request of the Moscow club to host home matches of the tournament at this stadium," the media service of UEFA said.

CSKA will play in Group G of the Champions League with the Czech Victoria, the Spanish Real and the Italian Roma. The Moscow club will hold home matches on October 2 (against Real Madrid), November 7 (against Roma) and November 27 (against Victoria).

Luzhniki is the most spacious football stadium in the country with 81 thousand seats. The arena hosted seven games of the 2018 World Cup, including the opening and the final matches.
