Ekaterinburg Arena construction completed

Supervisory organization issued compliance report

The general contractor for the reconstruction of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Ekaterinburg stadium,Sinara-Development, completed the basic construction and installation works. This was reported in the Department of Information Policy of the Sverdlovsk region.
"The report on the compliance of the constructed facility with the requirements, technical regulations and project documentation was issued by Rostechnadzor (supervisory agency) on December 29, 2017," the report said.

The capacity of the Ekaterinburg Arena is 35,000. "The unique feature of the project was the preservation of cultural heritage sites, over 4000 thousand square meters of historical walls were reconstructed, architectural elements of the 50s were recreated: bas-reliefs, sculptures, stucco decorations," the department noted.

The sports complex is equipped with a security and video surveillance system. The territory is equipped with a modern navigation system, created with universal international notation. The internal premises are ready for both spectators and football players. Capacious and functional locker rooms are outfitted for all athletes needs. The stands are equipped with chairs of various categories, including accommodation of low-mobility citizens, as well as reinforced seats which withstand loads of over 120 kg. For the comfort of the spectators there are 26 high-capacity elevators. Sky-boxes and VIP stands have also been equipped with appropriate facilities. There is a so-called commentatorial block, press center and working rooms for the media. The adjacent territory has been fully landscaped. The space around the Ekaterinburg Arena will become a fully fledged sports and recreational area for citizens and guests of the city.

"The implementation of the preparation plan for the World Cup in time gives confidence that our guests - football fans from different parts of Russia and the world - will be comfortable here, that they are in for purely positive emotions. I am confident that our stadium will serve many generations of the Urals natives, and the Championship will be remembered by everyone as one of the best in history," commented Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev.

"Reconstruction of the stadium is an honorable and very responsible task.The work was carried out in strict accordance with the outlined project and the established terms within the framework of the state contract. It was important to take into account every detail so that Ekaterinburg Arena retained its authenticity and at the same time met international standards. It is with pride and confidence that I say we managed to justify the obligations imposed on the company," said Timur Ufimtsev, CEO of Sinara Development.

 The World Cup matches will be held from June 14 to July 15, 2018 in 11 cities of Russia. Ekaterinburg on June 15 will host teams of Egypt and Uruguay, June 21 - France and Peru, June 24 - Japan and Senegal, and on June 27 - Mexico and Sweden.
