Stamping ceremony for 2018 World Cup post stamp held in Kazan

One of the Russian Post offices in Kazan held a special stamping ceremony of the post card with an original stamp dedicated to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The event was associated with the release of the post stamp in the series “Host cities. Kazan."
The post stamp depicts Kazan Kremlin and other attractions of the capital of Tatarstan, and the original stamp depicts the official symbol of the 2018 FIFA World Cup and a football match.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup philatelic program started in summer 2015 in the framework of the events before the qualifying draw for the tournament. The official stamping ceremony of the artistic stamped envelope "Preliminary draw for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia" was held on July 24.
The first series of post stamps for 2018 World Cup was released on September 18 - the day of the celebration of "1000 days before the World Cup." 200,000 copies of the stamp with the image of the World Cup was released.
Overall, the 2018 philatelic program involves production of 53 types of stamps and stamped envelopes.
Special stamping ceremony is usually held in honor of memorable dates, or high-profile events and is done with a special stamp. Post stamps used I the ceremony are limited in number and are used solely for collecting.
