Over 25 thousand EMERCOM employees to provide security during Confederations Cup 2017

Emergency response group had more than 30 training sessions to ensure the safety of the tournament

More than 25,000 EMERCOM employees will ensure security during the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 according to the ministry media service.
"Overall, 224 sites involved in the preparation and hosting of the Confederations Cup are monitored. Currently 216 sites have been put in operation. In the four host cities of the tournament Russian Emergency Situations Ministry will provide more than 25 thousand people and more than 1700 pieces of equipment for safety purposes,"- the ministry said.

They noted that Russian Emergency Situations Ministry staff has extensive experience in ensuring safety and security of mass international events such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi, Formula 1 Sochi Russian Grand Prix, World War Games, 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan, as well as World Aquatics Championships.
More than 30 interagency training sessions were held to ensure the security of the Confederations Cup. "These training sessions have been held in host cities for more than 30 times, more than 1,500 EMERCOM employees have been involved in them as well as more than 250 pieces of equipment. The main task of the interagency drills was not only the development of practical skills of response to emergency situations, but also improvement of cooperation between the executive federal and local authorities," - the media service said.

One of the most large-scale training sessions were interagency complex drills in Tatarstan and Moscow Fire Garrison special tactical drill at the Spartak Stadium, as well as drills at the Sputnik Health Resort in Sochi.
