The Moscow Metro will be working around the clock during the 2018 World Cup

The underground will also be open 24 hours a day during the City Day and on New Year

The Moscow Metro will work around the clock on the City Day and on New Year, according th Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. The official also stated that the underground will be working 24/7 during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™.

"Considering large repairs which have been carried out in the underground, the replacement of rails, the improvement of the power systems’ operation, the air conditioning, we have got an opportunity to increase the metropolitan’s working hours and make it around the clock on important days. We have decided to have the underground work 24 hours a day on New Year and on the City Day in 2017, and during the World Cup in 2018," the mayor said.

As Deputy Mayor Maksim Liksutov explained, the interval between trains on the New Year’s Eve and on the City Day between 12:30 am and 5:30 am will be 15 minutes and after the trains will follow their regular schedule.
