Training football fields, built in the framework of preparation to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, after the championship will be given to sport schools, Deputy Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region Dmitry Svatkovsky told Welcome2018.com.

"Training fields that we are going to build will be transferred to sport schools. I would like to note that there is no commerce. Everything will be done only for the development of football,” he said.

According to Svatkovsky, currently there are a lot of children that want to play football but the infrastructure is yet “behind the schedule.” He added that the training fields will be equipped with lighting and heating. “We want children to be able to play on these training fields whole year. This is the main goal,” Svatkovsky said.

In preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup three new training football fields are being constructed in the Nizhny Novgorod region - two in Nizhny Novgorod and one in the city of Bor. Another two fields - at the Locomotiv stadium in Nizhny Novgorod and Khimik stadium in Dzerzhinsk will be reconstructed.
