Head coach of the Cameroon national team Hugo Broos admitted visit to the Hermitage in 1987 left a lifelong impression. This he said at a press conference before the match with the team of Australia, which will be held on June 22 in Saint Petersburg.

In the fall of 1987, as a part of the Belgian Bruges, Broos came to Leningrad for the UEFA Cup 1/32 finals match with Zenit. On the road the Belgians lost with a score of 0 - 2, and at home won 5 - 0. The match in Leningrad took place at the Kirov stadium, where the Saint Petersburg Stadium was constructed, where Cameroon will play with Australia.

"It's been a long time, but I remember that stadium well, of course, it has nothing to do with this arena. As for the city, then I was prompted to visit the Hermitage. I'm not a great expert in painting and art, but I remember that visit until now," Broos said, adding that Saint Petersburg is a very beautiful city.

FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017 group B second round match between Cameroon and Australia will be held on Thursday in Saint Petersburg, beginning at 6 p.m. Moscow time.
