2018 World Cup Ekaterinburg specialists to be taught foreign languages

Sverdlovsk Region Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev ordered to teach foreign languages to all specialists involved in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™. This was reported by the Governor Department of information policy after the World Cup preparation meeting.

"Yevgeny Kuyvashev set the task of language training for all specialists involved in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™. According to the head of the region, preparation for the FIFA World Cup in Ekaterinburg is in its final stage: the bulk of construction is complete, there is much progress in modernizing the transport, hotel and sports infrastructures, and participants and guests of the tournament safety was ensured," the statement said.

According to the head of the region, one of the most important tasks is to prepare hotel employees, health care workers, police officers, firefighters, rescue workers and others. "They need to be trained in several areas, such as security at mass events , as well as foreign languages. After training, specialists should be tested on their knowledge," added the department spokesperson.

Standard phrasebooks for those who will be involved in the tournament have been already developed. Volunteers speaking English and other languages are also expected to assist all specialist groups.
