Saint Petersburg Vice-Governor Vladimir Kirillov made an inspection tour on a number of facilities that will be used during the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 according to the city administration media service.
During the tour Vice-Governor inspected training grounds intended for the participating teams, including football pitches and adjacent infrastructure facilities.
As media service stressed, at the time the training areas on Ulitsa (Street) Vernosti, 21 and the Petrovsky Stadium, which is run by the FC Zenith, are fully operational. The renovation of natural turf has been done on these sites, repair and upgrading works of sports and media zones and other premises have been completed.
On the Zenit base at Ulitsa (Street) Akkuratova, 7, where during the Confederations Cup the referee headquarters will be based, site improvement works are being completed. The club carried out a complete reconstruction of the main building of the base and prepared 2 training fields. Vladimir Kirillov noted the high quality of the football pitch turf in accordance with international requirements.
Construction works of a new site at Prospekt (Avenue) Metallistov is in its final stage. The installation of the checkpoint building was completed, the technical building and the team building construction was completed. Football pitch installation works, building a parking lot and arranging stands for spectators are finished.
