17 April

Ahead of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017, the Saransk Volunteer Center trained activists from six 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Host Cities: Kaliningrad, Samara, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Saransk. Before practice at the facilities starts, volunteers received theoretical knowledge about volunteering.

Director of LOC Volunteer Relations Tatiana Gomzyakova in her welcoming speech said that the training was attended by around two thousand people.

"In 2016 we launched the volunteer program, and since then I've been waiting for us to see each other again," said Gomzyakova. "To date we've trained around 2000 people, and today your turn has come. After returning from the Confederations Cup, you will talk about this event, share your emotions and experience with those who'll participate in the World Cup, you will relay the lessons learned here to your own city."
