We want to show once again that we are ready to provide all the best. Everyone should see the hospitality Russia is famous for. "

The official noted that the preparations for the tournament are in accordance with the schedule. "All the guarantees that Russia gave FIFA we carry out on time," he said. "The training programme is already nearing completion. The World Championship gave a strong impetus to regional development - infrastructure is developing, new stadiums are being opened and the old ones are being modernised. In December Rostov-on-Don opens a completely new airport, which will be able to take airplanes of any class."

The final draw will be held on 1 December.

Distribution of teams by groups will be carried out by eight assistants, which include the legendary Soviet forward, the first vice-president of the Russian Football Union Nikita Simonyan, as well as the famous football players Laurent Blanc, Gordon Banks, Fabio Cannavaro, Cafu, Diego Maradona, Carles Puyol and Diego Forlan.

The World Championship will be held from June 14 to July 15, 2018 in 11 cities: Moscow, Kaliningrad, Saint Petersburg, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi and Ekaterinburg.
