The new body  includes representatives of more than 20 registered associations of fans from all over Russia. Coordinating fan activities, organization of the Russian national team support, organization of interaction with law enforcement, prevention and minimization of conflict situations between fans are the main tasks of the Council.

"We needed an institution under the RFS, which would bring together football league representatives, fan movements, clubs supporters, etc.," the RFS media service relays Mutko's words. "At the Fans Council we can discuss all the problems associated with football, football organization and support of the national team issues. Today we established that football does not make any sense without the fans, that we are all together responsible for this wonderful sport. We've heard a lot of good ideas and thoughts. Now we summarize all of them and then we'll start to implement what we've discussed. On the eve of the Confederations Cup and World Cup fans support is very important for us."
